Maia Greer-Heffernan, 31 - Olympia Pelican Press
WHY I GOT INTO THE BIZ / WHAT INSPIRES ME:
I have been making zines since I was a teenager, and started one up as a whim last year. The more I worked on it and it grew, the more potential I realized it had to be a stepping stone for me to my dream job of being an Artist (professionally). Now the Olympia Pelican Press is a monthly subscription service, through which I send tiny books and surprises to my subscribers each month, and I am working on getting to the point where it can be a platform for larger books and series. What inspires my content most is Long Lake, where I live, which has generated countless (fictional) stories, and continues to generate more by the moment. On a day to day basis, what keeps me going is my drive to be an entrepreneur and be in charge of my own life and future, and a deep love for the books and other art I create.
