WHY I GOT INTO THE BIZ / WHAT INSPIRES ME:

I built my foundation by volunteering as a child for Habitat for Humanity, 4-H, and FFA in high school to learn natural resources and nursery landscaping in Grays Harbor. I started applying for scholarships and grants to go to college as I was raised low-income and first generation. While attending Grays Harbor College, I resurrected the Natural Resources Club, interned with a forestry company, Rayonier Inc., and joined Society of American Foresters in WA State (WSSAF). I received WSSAF Foundation's first round of scholarship in 2011.

In an effort to give back to an organization that gave me so much, as the WSSAF social media communications chair I currently develop creative media content across their social media platforms, research content that promotes sustainable use of natural resources, and coordinate social media efforts at the state level with all of the chapters to raise awareness of the society. I realized her passion for media marketing through these efforts.

In 2012, on scholarship from the Bob and Eleanor Grant trust, I interned at Seattle Audubon Society as a conservation intern. My favorite part was creating content for the Audubon’s website. Through college, I worked in various offices to gain administrative skills and was able to work for the president of The Evergreen State College. I took advantage of the support programs on both of my college campuses. Within five years, I earned 25 scholarships and grants claiming a debt-free education. This gives me the ability to give my clients at Talking Forests an affordable price for marketing needs.

My inspiration comes from the people who gave me hope and the people who give me hope for the future. These are the generous people who work every day to grow and help each other equally. Talking Forests wishes to help others have a voice and build an online presence.
